Recruiting for a Very Special "Quest"

Imma just move this over here for anyone who hasn't seen it already.

If you've seen what I have done you know that Lyca, my character, has gotten railroaded into helping Hades retrieve his drinking horn, which means she'll have to be leaving Camp soon on that errand. I'd like to extend the offer to participate to others, if they'd like to get in on it.

To be clear, this won't be an official quest either in-game or out. In fact, to slip into movie metaphors, this will be to an official quest what Guardians of the Galaxy is to The Avengers; instead of Iron Man you get Star Lord ("Who?"), and instead of Thor you get a (technically) talking tree. There are no rules, no responsibility, and no friendly Camp to fall back on if things go wrong--and if something can go wrong, it probably already has. Above all else, this little jaunt will be about the less-than-shiny side of the demigod world, where monsters and mafiosos rub shoulders in the alleys of New York, CHB is more likely to stand for "criminal hellion brats" than "Camp Half-Blood," and Mount Olympus seems a whole long way above you...

So, if you have any misfits or bad eggs in need of something to do... Extend them an invitation from me. We're about to have rather a lot of fun.

Hmm... Well, Ria's still in, obviously, and so's Kathleen for sure. I'm a bit concerned about bringing along every single one of the Hermes kids so far. Adrian has a bit of distinction because of his magical dabbling and more intellectual outlook, but with Lance especially there's a lot of overlap with Lyca as far as abilities and skills go, and I feel like it'd be awkward to have two characters scrambling for the same niche once we get down to the actual "stealing stuff and getting in trouble" part of things. My experience with small-team type adventures like this, everyone comes out happier when their character has a unique area of expertise where they get to shine. On the other hand, Lance is currently Jack's only character, and I definitely don't want to keep him from participating. I'll sleep on it.

That's perfectly fine Keep in mind, while they're both Hermes children, Lance and Adrian are different in many ways. For one, Adrian isn't much of a stealer, and he's a little more information inclined. I think it's quite possible for both of them to coexist, but ultimately, it's your choice.

No, what he's saying is Lyca, his character, and Lance are pretty similar as far as group function goes. She's a daughter of Hermes too xD

If Lance doesn't fit with the group I'm fine with him not going on the quest.

Okay, I've decided who's going to be going; I've tried to weigh a variety of factors, mostly expressed interest and diverse talents, and I'm pretty happy with the final team roster. In no particular order...

• Lyca Raffles and Hunter Mistilteinn (Omni)- A matched set. Lyca's the sneaky one, Hunter's the logistics and supplies guy.
  
• Tristan Forrest (Wishie)- Every good heist team need their smart guy. That's Tristan.
  
• Adrian Whitman (Sentinel)- Assuming Sentinel still wants him to go--I'm kind of unclear on that at this point-- he'll be the team's magic expert. Kinda like how there's always the one guy who knows everything about cars.
  
• Ria Griffith (Esmeey)- As was discussed on the other thread, Ria's in charge of beating shit up. She's the troubleshooter; she sees trouble, and she shoots it. You know, metaphorically.
  
• Kate Lester (Syd)- Kate is, for lack of a better term, the nuclear option. As a child of the Big Three, she's the most powerful demigod in this group by a fair margin, and the only one who might have a shot at soloing one Valentine Close, should he decide to appear, or other beings of that caliber. Not as reliable as Ria, but even more dangerous.
  
• Jessica Jade (JJ)- Jess fulfills the last of the team's four essential roles. Lyca's the sneaky one, Tristan's the smart one, Ria's the fighty one, and Jess is the talky one. She covers the social angle on this crew, because gods know most of the others are hopeless.
  

I'll be getting our, um, "prophecy" up and gathering the team soon.
