Personality: On a good day, Candace is quiet and gentle. She might seem slightly “out of it” because she’ll stare at objects for long periods of time, but in reality she’s just trying to refrain from harming anyone with her power to the best of her abilities. It’s hard for her to make friends, but it’s not impossible, and as long as you treat her with respect and kindness she’ll consider you one. Yet, this does not mean she’ll be open with you.
On a bad day, Candace can show to lash out (yelling wise) at those who hurt her. Whether it be physically or mentally if she feels threatened or harmed she will even use her powers to an extent.
Other than that she isn’t the brightest light seeing as she was thrown back and forth from public, private, and then homeschooling that ended up failing. She’s also not good at supporting others and giving advice, along with dealing with situations. On top of it all she hates it when people try to touch her as it gives her memories of the abuse she had been through.

By looking at someone straight in the eyes (on purpose or not) she creates their worst Phobia in their mind as if it is really happening in front of them. She can only do this to one person at a time and once she breaks away from their eyes it ends.

Backstory:
Mom screamed. Mom threw the chair. Mom told them to get out.
The men pulled my mom away from me, breaking whatever had held us together apart.
She cried. She struggled. She begged them to keep her with me.
They blocked me from going after her, from snuggling up against her for comfort and affection.
I was told to get dressed. I was scared. I was confused.
Within minutes I was in the back of an unknown car, holding my Funshine bear against my chest. My remaining “important” items the men had packed were next to me in a pink barbie suitcase.
I asked over and over as they drove through the rain when I was going to see my mom. And they had told me I would see her soon.
However, that would be the last time I ever saw her.

Candace Jodie Miller was born on April 2nd, 1998 to a single 17 year old mother. The two of them lived in a trailer park in Indiana living off of fast food, frozen dinners, and whatever her mother’s elder brother brought by when he visited.
Despite being young, Candace had a large vocabulary that consisted of both normal english language and swears. Being the daughter of a young 17 year old girl she constantly was engaged in hearing their vulgar speech and grew accustomed to the new vocab.
Her and her mother were also very close, despite what others would have believed. When Candace was sad she retreated to her mother for comfort, and she would be greeted with love. Even when her mother’s boyfriends attempted to harm Candace or tell her to choose him or her she’d always make sure she was safe and her first priority.
Yet, when she turned 4 her and her mother were separated and she was thrown into Foster Care. In her times of being in Foster Care she went through 4 households. The first two she could barely remember and had only been there for about two years. All she remembers was constantly being scolded and put into time out for her behavior and language which soon was labeled as a problem along with her tendency to lash out at other children.
The 3rd household she was placed into was the one she never forgets. There, she was treated poorly. Being the youngest out of the many teenagers who were there as well, she was bullied and teased. And, on top of it all the Foster Mother, Ms. Sharp, was very abusive and hit her instead of being put in time out. Whenever she tried to get help for this they only believed she was lying and Ms. Sharp was able to cover up everything. In this time period she also figured out about her power to create phobias in people’s minds by just staring into their eyes. This caused more trouble on her part and was the thing that ended up getting her out of the abusive Foster parenting in the end.
Finally when she was 12 she was transferred to another household. At this time she began to stop looking people in the eye, usually looking past them or at their foreheads when told to so her power wouldn’t activate. There wasn’t anything special about Mr. and Mrs. Tyminski besides the fact they lived in Pennsylvania, placed her into homeschooling, and paid attention to her the least out of the other kids she lived with.
Once she hit the age of 13 she decided to run away after meeting a Satyr. Later finding herself at Camp Half-blood, a week later after that getting claimed as a child of Phobos.

Power | Her power is the strongest thing she has. However she doesn’t like using it unless she needs to or she feels threatened.

Touch {Fear} | Fear of being touched by other people. Hugging, holding hands, or even simply putting your hand on her shoulder makes her uncomfortable and jittery.

Weapon(s): A simple celestial bronze dagger she keeps at her side in case she must defend herself from monsters. It has no name and she is not very good at using it.

Because of her power she usually won't look people in the eye.
She cannot remember her mother’s name and barely her face.
She’ll doodle squiggly and normal lines when she’s upset.
Candace and Jodie are both first names but will consider Jodie a middle name despite it being the name she’d rather go by. Those names come from two actresses in Full House which is what she was named after.
She still has the Funshine Care Bear stuffed animal her mother bought her for her 3rd birthday.
Candace refuses to participate in games such as Capture the Flag.
