Oh my god I'm going to die I think to myself as I run for my life. It's not every day that you get chased by a scary bird thing, a harpy I think....

Things weren't going well, even by my standards. The last few weeks had been hell on earth... After the great blizzard of June 2015 I didn't think things could be much worse. Now I've spent 2 months running for my life across the country creating snow storms in places where it really shouldn't be snowing in the middle of the summer. They were just blaming it on global warming, oh well.

Here I was now the first time since I discovered that I had these cursed powers that I actually wanted them to do something, of course because I wanted them to work nothing was happening. "Please just leave me alone giant man eating bird thing" I yell as I sprint through the woods. It was getting closer and me yelling at it wasn't making a difference. So I treked my butt all the way from Colorado to New York to this camp place and I'm going to end up being eaten less than a mile away... great.

The next thing I knew the bird was in front of me blocking my path. "Oh god..." I mumble taking a step back as it takes a step forward. I bump into a tree and look around, my path out was blocked. I was a goner....

As I feel it getting closer to me I slam my eyes shut and stick my arms out as if trying to shield myself from whatever was going to happen next. It never came though and I slowly open one eye. There stood the harpy looking all angry and stunned in a frozen block of ice inches away from my face. I guess I did that....

Crow

While on border patrol I had heard someone yell in the distance. Considering what happened in the past it wasn't really that hard to guess that it was someone arriving to camp.

I knew it would take to long to inform the others on patrol so I made a split second decision and ran toward the noise.

I've never been known for my speed, but I think I made it there in a decent time. The site that greeted me was a girl no younger then 14 being blocked by a harpy. I reach out my arm to do something about the creature, but before I could do anything to it was already ice... Strange

The Ice was different then mine though. Instead of just putting a layer over the Harpy like I was planning to do, the Harpy was in a block of Ice

I lower my outstretched arm and bring out Crystal. I make a slash straight down the middle and cause the Harpy to turn to dust.

"Did you just do that?" I ask as I look at the girl, "Actually that can wait, follow me."

I turn and start to run towards the camp.

Aspen-
I stand there too stunned to do anything and I just stared after the thing disintegrated my hand shaking nervously "I-I- I'm not sure" I say, the next thing I knew he was running away from me.

Crow

I stop dead in my tracks, Your an idiot Crow, she just got here. Of course she'd be a bit shaken.

I turn and go back for her. "Listen, this might sound strange, and you probably don't exactly trust me right now. But if you want to get to camp you'll have to follow me," I say, looking at the girl.

Aspen-
"Right" I say starting to follow him looking back at the pile of dust... I stick my hands in my pockets hoping that nothing happened again... What I accidentally hurt him- would they kick me out before I even got there- would more of those things come after me.... as I begin to worry the air around me starts to cool down as if I was walking into a freezer

Crow

I notice that the air around her drops in temperature. I think about asking her about it, but to much to fast could frighten her so I simply say, "Getting a bit cold," as I walk forward.

Aspen~
I could feel this difference in the change of temperature but I didn't really think much about it. "S- sorry" I say quietly shoving my hands in my pocket

Crow

"So it was you doing it.... Don't be sorry, you'll learn to control it here. I promise," I say, turning back and smiling at her.

Aspen~
"Control it...." I say hesitantly, why did he have so much faith in me

Crow

I look around as I check for monsters. We were close but I wasn't going to let us get ambushed because I was lazy.

"Just watch," I say as I stick my hand out in front of me and I start to freeze the grass in front of me, making a little pate in the grass.

"H- how did you do that?" I ask looking at the small area that he froze

Crow

"Practice, lots and lots of practice," I muttered staring at it for a second.

"From what I can tell you are a daughter of my mother, Khione. If that is true you'll be put under me at the camp."

Aspen~
"So does that make you my brother?" I ask hesitantly

Crow

"Half-brother, but yes I'll be your brother if Khione claims you," I say as we approach the camp

"Here we are," I say holding out my arms, "Welcome to Camp Half-blood."

Aspen~
"Wow" I mumble quietly looking around, this place seemed huge, and there were so many people

Crow

"Here, I'll show you to the Big house. That's where you can meet Chiron, he'll be able to explain things better then I can."

Aspen~
"Okay..." I say following him mostly in silence. Was I going to get in trouble because of everything that happened?
