The Beach :-)

Chill out in the sand... Or go swimming. The choice is yours, young wizard.

~Roslyn~
Bored, I sit in the sand with my legs stretched out before me. I occasionally poke a hermit crab and watch its movements.

~Xavier
I simply float in the water, working on my tan. Even though Aphrodite and Apollo kids claimed they were better at soaking up the sun, by flipping myself in the water I could completely tan myself on both sides. It was much more efficient than a beach chair, and the water helped to keep me cool.

~Adrian~

I smiled a bit as the cool breeze drifted through my hair. Optimal setting for dowsing, or whatever it was.

~Andy~
"Hey Adrian!" I said with a smile as we walked onto the beach. "Wendy told me you guys are working on dowsing?"

~Adrian~

I nodded. "Something like that, yeah. It's a kind of ritual where you take an item that belonged to someone, place it in the sand, put saltwater and mandrake leaves on it, and an apparition will appear to give you a clue as to where the person is. Or, so Wendy says."

~Wendy~

"Look, I've seen my dad do it a hundred times," I scolded. "I know what I'm doing."

~Adrian~

"As long as it's mandrake and not peyote, I'm cool with it."

~Andy~
"Oooh! That sounds interesting," I said with a smile as my feet subconsciously played with the sand below me. "Who are you looking for?"

~Adrian~

"Oh, um... it's..."

~Wendy~

"It's personal," I cut in. "Some... people he's close to that he hasn't seen in a while."

Adrian rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah...."

~Andy~
"Oh...I'm sorry," I said as my face fell. "I shouldn't have been so...nosy."

~Adrian~

"No no, it's fine. It's just an awkward topic."

~Wendy~

I cleared my throat. "Yeah. So... should we begin?"

~Andy~
I cleared my throat awkwardly before I began smiling again. "Can I help with anything?"

"no byeeee"

~Wendy~

"Apart from standing back and watching the magic happen," I said, pulling out a vial of the aforementioned mandrake leaves, "Nope. It's relatively simple, just a few Manx words..."

(Savage!)

~Andy~
I nodded with a smile as I ran my toes through the fine sand. "I've never do this type of spell before. I never had a need I guess..."

~Adrian~

"You must have everything you're looking for, all at camp," I shrugged.

~Andy~
"Of course. It's where my real family is," I said with a smile before I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself. What I was saying probably wasn't helping the situation.

~Wendy~

"OK so yeah!" I said, interrupting the exchange before it could get more awkward because it was headed down that shady and troubling path. "Here's the mandrake leaves. Oh Andy, could you put some saltwater into the cauldron?"

~Andy~
"Aye!" I said before I summoned a stream of salt water from my hand to fill up the cauldron. It was a nice distraction rom the awkwardness.

~Wendy~

I smiled faintly. "Thanks."

~Andy~
"No problem! Anything to help," I said as I smiled at Adrian before I turned back to the proceedings.

~Juliette~
I sit cross-legged in the sand, my eyes trained on my hands. Eyebrows furrowed, I glance back and forth between the Chantilly lace in my right hand and Brancombe in my left.

"Hmm... which one would be better?" I mumble.

~Regina
"Oh, look who it is. That's another of your siblings. Her name is Juliette."

~Juliette~
I raise an eyebrow and groan at Regina's presence, having enjoyed the emptiness of the beach. Oh well.

"Hello, hello," I say, standing up with my gaze still trained on the lace in my hands.

"Is he new?" I say, lifting my head and squinting at the other camper.

~Regina
"Yes. His name is Solomon. Solomon, this is Juliette."

~Juliette~
"Oh. It's nice to meet you Soloman," I say, my gaze shifting back down to the lace in my hands as a trudge off to somewhere more quiet.

~Andy~
I glanced over at the trio of people far down the beach before I turned back to Wendy and Adrian.

~Regina
"Ignore her. She's rude. Anyways, let's see who your first victim will be... Do you see anyone?"
